St. John's force a draw
Two good half centuries from S. Gayan (66) and D. Indeevara (67)
helped St. John's College force a draw to their 18th annual inter school
Big Match against the traditional rivals Ananda Sastralaya Kotte and
concluded at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium yesterday.
Ananda Sastralaya: 207 and 159 for 6 (H. Madushanka 45, D.
Karunatunga 42, T. Karunathunga 32, A. Madushanka 27, S. David 3 for
39).
St. John's: 205 (S. Gayan 66, D. Indeevara 67, K. Paranathala 2 for
21, A. Madushanka 4 for 43, S. Bathiya 3 for 46).
Sri Lanka hold Maldives to a draw

The Sri Lanka-Maldives friendly football encounter ended in a one-all
draw at the Sugathadasa Stadium last night. Mohamed Rahumy scored the
goal for Sri Lanka while for Maldives M.A. Yaseen scored the equaliser.
At half-time scores stood at one-all.
There was no scoring in the second-half despite both teams playing an
aggressive game of football.
This encounter was a warm-up game for both teams as they were
preparing to play in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Challenge
Cup qualifier to be played on April 4, at Sugathadasa Stadium.
St. Servatius win easily

CRICKET: The ninth one-day encounter between St. Thomas' and St.
Servatius', Matara as a part of the celebration to mark 109th Battle of
the Blues held on the Uyanwatta Stadium, Matara ended in a grand victory
for St. Servatius.
St. Thomas': 104 all out in 49.4 overs (J.W. De Silva 18, H.W.D.
Jayasanka 28, U.H. Ashan 3 for 20, Lahiru Kokila 3 for 7).
St. Servatius 105 for three wickets in 32.1 overs (A. Dilanka 30, N.

Rajans-Kingswood limited over match postponed

CRICKET: The sudden postponement of the Limited Over clash between
Dharmaraja College and Kingswood College for the Winston Hoole Trophy
which was to be played at the Asgiriya Stadium yesterday has raised many
eye brows among the cricket enthusiasts in the hill capital.It cannot be
the weather as it has been bright and sunny for the last two days.
There were a few minor incidents involving the spectators during the
big match.
Did the authorities fear that it will surface again during the
limited over clash forcing them to postpone this match indefinetly.
It is unlikely that this match will be played this term.
Lyceum, Wattala under 13 cricket champions
CRICKET: Lyceum International School, Wattala emerged winners of the
Inter. International Schools under 13 cricket tournament when they beat
Colombo International School by 8 wickets in the final played recently
at the Wattala grounds. The tournament was organised by Lyceum
International School, Nugegoda.
Colombo International School: 112 in 33.3 overs (Deeraj Danasingham
24, Roshane Perera 23, Thushara Dharmadasa 23; Thilanka de Zoysa 2 for
6, Sanjeew Kumaraswamy 2 for 31, Daham Dias 2 for 36, Adhith Warma 2 for
14).
Lyceum International School: 115 for 2 wkts in 20.1 overs (Mohamed
Rahil 59 not out, Chelaka Mallawaarachchi 38; Roshen Perera 1 for 12,
Deshen Perera 1 for 27).
