Their faces are probably very familiar to you by now - the Panorama
family, thanks to the popular Panorama TV commercial.
They all came together on Future Star - a program conducted by
Sarasaviya, the Lake House film weekly, for young potential stars. Who
knows, the starlets you see in this page today might become fully
fledged stars tomorrow. They are half way there already !
Helani Bandara
Twenty five year old Helani went to Girls' High School Mt. Lavinia
and made her debut in Bridal shows and Nugasevana.
 "My ambition was to become a Montessori teacher but that changed when
a friend asked me to take part in a bridal show conducted by Nugasevana,"
said Helani. She is a fully fledged model now and has no intention of
giving up her career.
While she was successful in getting the full support of her parents,
she reveals that her husband is also very supportive and understanding.
Duneesha Bandara
Dunisha - the beautiful daughter of the Panorama family - aged 18,
also made her debut on bridal shows as a Western bride. She attended
Princess of Wales College, Moratuwa. She says that modelling ran in her
blood.
"My mother used to do bridal shows. And I used to dress up for her."
Dunisha explains that she would like to make modelling her career but
admitted she also likes beauty care.
Roshan Ranathunga
For Roshan, who runs a business, modelling is a hobby as well as a
passion. He went to the Pannala National School and like the others has
the full support of the family to follow his passion for modelling. He
studied drama under Nimal Jayaweera and made his debut in Peradiga Ahasa.
Sujan Thalgahagoda
Sujan has already set off in the direction of becoming a star with
five years of experience in the field of modelling and acting. He had
studied drama under Leslie Ramanayaka and Suminda Sirisena.
He made his debut in Tharumansala and has already starred in some
commercials apart from Panorama. He has also tried his luck on stage,
acting in dramas such as Keerthi Bandara's Yakada Sapaththu and the
movie Deewara Kella. On the small screen he has acted in Jeewithaya
Lassanai, Batti and Samanala Yaaya.
Hope that Sarasaviya would be able to introduce many such stars in
the future. |
