President returns

Libya offers $ 500 million plus 100,000 jobs:

President Mahinda Rajapaksa who was on a three day official visit to Libya returned to the island yesterday. During the visit he met Libyan Head of State Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, Prime Minister Dr. Baghdadi Ali Al Mahmudi and other leaders.

Southern Expressway ready by 2011

The first stage of the Colombo - Matara Expressway (up to Galle) will be completed in July 2010 and the total project would be ready by 2011. Total length of the expressway would be 126 kilometres, which is 34 kms less than the existing Colombo - Matara highway.

Indian newspaper The Tribune warns:

Capture Prabhakaran dead or alive

Reminding Sri Lanka in a strongly worded editorial that there cannot be complacency, India’s Tribune newspaper said although it is claimed the back of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) is broken until its leader Prabhakaran is captured there can be no finality about it.
