The Bamunu Arachchi Foundation donated a brand new state-of-the-art video endoscopy unit at a cost of Rs. 3.5 mln. The equipment was funded by a group of donors while Sampath Bank fully sponsored the cost of a new Neonatal Ventilator costing Rs. 2.2 mln which was also donated on the 61st death anniversary of B.A. Semaneris Appuhamy which was on April 9. Health is wealth and keeping with this saying the Chairman of BAM Holdings B.A. Mahipala handed over the phase one stage of the Homagama Hospital built at a cost of Rs. 100 mln on February 16, 2009.

It is the 61st anniversary of the original hospital opening which was built by late B.A. Semaneris Appuhamy, father of B.A. Mahipala. Late Semaneris Appuhamy not only built the hospital but also donated the land on which the hospital was built.
