The employees of the Cey-Nor Foundation Ltd., affiliated to the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources on temporary basis were made permanent recently.

These employees who comprised fibreglass workers and production managers have worked temporarily for nearly four years.

These employees had manufactured multiday-fishing boats, oneday-fishing boats, yachts and fibreglass boats.

"There is a great demand for multiday fishing boats in India, Somalia, Bangaladesh and several other countries", a Sey-Nor official said.

Twenty-five temporary workers were made permanent under the Development Program in the fisheries sector.

The Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Minister Felix Perera said, skilled labour would be needed to implement the massive development projects in the fisheries sector and the Fisheries Ministry has already taken steps to train workers.
