CMC coconut cultivation program

A coconut seedling planting program was launched by the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) recently.

This program was launched in CMC lands.

The first coconut seeding was planted by the Chief Incumbent of the Gangarama Vihara, Ven. Galaboda Gnanissara Thera. According to CMC sources 50 coconut seedlings were planted under the first stage.

CMC has selected several abandoned lands and the land by the side of roads for the program.

The Urban Environmental and Land Director of the CMC Lalith Wickramaratne, Heads of Departments in the CMC members of the CMC and people of the area participated.
