Top marks for Pasindi Wijesuriya, Sanduni Sathya and Kashyapa Kulasekera in chess

CHESS: Pasindi Yathra Wijesuriya (Sangamittha Vidyalaya, Colombo), Sanduni Sathya (Maliyadeva Girls College, Kurunegala) and Kashyapa Kulasekera (Vidyartha College, Kandy) did well to score full points - 7 out of 7 games in the under 8 girls, under 10 girls and under 12 boys respectively and thereby received the titles of girls under 8, girls under 10, and under 12 boys National Chess Championships.

There were 12 district/provincial events were held in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Mahanuwara, Galle, Matara, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Kegalle and Ratnapura districts and Wayamba and Uva provinces before the event and also the qualifiers were taken to the finals.
