Within this roller-coaster speed of modern world there is no oasis
for relaxation. We have time just to have a drink while on the run and
get a momentary break to swallow something. Who does not like to have a
good meal with his or her family or friends talking, smiling, and
relaxing? Just there is no time as there are so many things to finish
before the day’s end.
Fast food indulgence is speeding up nowadays, its inception is not so
new.
Where there are cities, the places to sell fast foods are many. The
habit of eating something while on the run was in early Rome. They ate
bread and olive stands, while flatbread and falafel were eaten in Middle
Eastern countries.
The world’s fastest fast food chain came into existence in 1940. Dick
and Mac McDonald founded it, offering hamburgers, French fries with
milkshakes, coffee and Cola to speed up the swallowing. In 1961, Ray
Kroc, nicknamed Hamburger King, bought this operation and expanded it as
a nationwide business.
Presently, McDonald’s has spread in more than 120 countries globally
and owns more than 30,000 restaurants. Its largest branch is in China
and the busiest is believed to be in Moscow, Russia.
Other well famous fast food chains are Burger King. It has got more
than 11,000 restaurants in 65 countries while KFC, has its branches in
25 countries. Subway with 29,186 restaurants in 86 countries opened its
first outside branch in Bahrain in 1984.
To meet the world demand Pizza Hut came into existence in 26
countries with 100 of them in China. Taco Bell has got 278 restaurants
in 12 countries.
Fast foods contain trans fats that has been tested and proven as bad
elements for healthy life.
The test done with the monkeys, in which monkeys were given high
amount of trans fat proved that the monkeys who ate high trans fat foods
got more abdominal fat than the ones who ate unsaturated fats. They were
also insulin resistant, the early signs of diabetes.
Fast food is also directly linked with obesity, the major health
problem in the world that is closely linked with many diseases including
deadly heart disease.
Women who are busy to report to work stop a minute to buy ready made
fast foods to the working places or start eating them while travelling.
So too the opposite gender as well as students. Recently there were many
cases of food poisoning.
Nevertheless, we people have to go with fast food, as we are facing
the fast struggle to live on. There is not enough time to prepare food
in their lives.
