Soul Sounds the fabulous and award winning all girl choir returned
from France after a successful series of concerts.
Directed by the versatile Soundarie David who was pleased that the
choir got enthusiastic ovations after each performance is probably
thinking of how she could get another tour going for the choir. “It was
truly awesome. Soul Sounds were musical ambassadors to the country. In
France they got some good reviews but all in French,” says Soundarie.
The programme of this remarkable choir included a blend of
semi-classics, gospel, traditional (Sinhala, Tamil and French songs) and
pop. This time around there were only nineteen girls in the choir as
some couldn’t make it. Jerome de Silva choreographer, Christopher Prins
- drummer accompanied the choir. Soundarie David played the keyboards.
Six concerts in ten days was indeed a good achievement for Soul Sounds.
The choir first sang for the Easter Service at St. Germain’s Church
on april 12 and later in the evening at 5.00 pm performed their concert
at the same church. On Monday April 13 their concert was at St. Germain
Du Corbeis.
Their concert at the Church in Mangy le desert was held on Tuesday
April 14 while the next day April 15 Wednesday the choir performed at
the Church in Brecey.
Soul Sounds concert at St. Jean’s Church, Flers was on Friday April
17 and their final concert was held in the Church of Le Mele. The
popularity of Soul Sounds can never be doubted and we hope the choir
will be heard on our stages soon, for musical lovers to enjoy their
remarkable harmony. |
