Upset win for Joes

RUGBY: St. Joseph's created history when they edged out Trinity by 27 points (2 goals, 2 tries, 1 penalty) to 24 points (2 goals, 2 tries) at Pallekele yesterday.

At half-time St. Joseph's led 13-12. It was the Josephians first ever win over Trinity.Trinity won all three junior games under-18 by 32-5, under-14 by 14-7, under-16 by 17-0.

Trinity will play their next match against St. Anthony's on May 7 at Pallekele.


St. Peter's thrash Rajans 61-0

RUGBY: St. Peter's opened the 2009 inter-school season with a runaway 61-0 win over Dharmaraja at Kandy yesterday. St. Peter's won by 61 points (39, 8 tries) to nil after leading 36-0 at half-time. Referee-Anura Rankothge. In the junior team Rajans won 7-0.
