The customer friendly sales team headed by Dickson Karunaratne together with Saman Dumankorale who is heading the service division has the capability of providing genuine and economical solutions to any type of customer needs, guarantees after sales service and preventive maintenance.

In its development program Alcobronz Engineering intends to introduce high tech machinery to the industry in order to improve the quality of products, provide machinery solutions to the metal working industry with a high level of after-sales service and train youth who are interested in starting a career in woodworking or metal working industry to help the government to reduce unemployment.

As an organisation the vision of Alcobronz Engineering (Pvt) Ltd is to be the best provider/manufacturer of machinery, accessories and services to both woodworking and metal working industries.

This provides opportunities to local engineering graduates and apprentices from technical colleges to develop their skills in the field of engineering thereby contributing to create a technologically advanced nation.

Alcobronz was started in 1973 as a partnership by Vernon De Waas Tilakaratna and Lakshman Silva. Subsequently, Alcobronz was incorporated as a limited liability company in 1984 by the founder directors with administrative office and showroom in Colombo managed by Lakshman Silva and the manufacturing/services workshop and showroom at Mahara, Kadawatha managed by Vernon De Waas Tilakaratna. In early 2008, the Board of Directors of Alcobronz unanimously decided to treat the two locations as independent entities and as a result the manufacturing/service-repair workshop and the showroom at Mahara, Kadawatha continues its operations as Alcobronz Engineering (Pvt) Ltd.

The Board of Directors of the company consist of Vernon De Waas Tilakaratna (Chairman) Dr. Prasan De Waas Tilakaratna (Managing Director, Leslie Perera (Executive Director) and Troy Peiris (Marketing Director).

Vernon De Waas Tilakaratna is one of the pioneers in manufacturing woodworking machinery in Sri Lanka.

The machines designed and manufactured by him won awards in several years as the best locally manufactured machine at the INCO exhibitions.
