They are our brothers and sisters... Innocent civilians living in the
North who had been subjected to immense hardships for many years due to
LTTE terrorism. The Tiger terrorists forcibly recruited many teenagers
as child soldiers. Instead of books, they were given weapons by the
LTTE.Thanks to the valiant efforts of our brave soldiers, those hapless
civilians were rescued from the jaws of LTTE terror.These children, who
experienced untold hardships along with their parents under the LTTE
rule, have now been rescued by the Security Forces.
They now enjoy the true liberation and have even got an opportunity
to get back to their studies. The Government has made arrangements to
enable schooling for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) children in
the camps.It is our duty to make whatever contributions possible towards
these innocent children who have suffered due to no fault of theirs.
They are our people, our brothers and sisters and our own fellow
countrymen - Sri Lankans.
A little contribution by us from the South would go a long way in
making their lives comfortable and would bring a smile to the faces of
these innocent children. |
