The Sea Scouts Organisation of Sri Lanka that suffered heavy damage due to the LTTE abortive air attack in Colombo recently is hoping to resume operations next month. According to National Commadore, Hiran Jayasinghe the Sea Scouts Organisation located behind the Inland Revenue Building suffered damage amounting to over Rs. 8 million following the explosion.

The LTTE aircraft flew over the Sea Scouts Organisation building and crashed into the Inland Revenue Department Building and due to the explosion and air vacuum created soon after, the building crumbled damaging all the computers, boats and other equipment, he said.

Thereafter the organisation ceased operations and are now functioning outside Colombo causing severe hardships to its members. The Government has pledged one hundred thousand rupees and we are now looking at other ways of raising funds, he said.
