Muslims don’t need separate politics - Hisbullah


Minister of Social Service, Health, Ports and IT Education of the Eastern Provincial Council and National Organiser of the All Ceylon Muslim Congress, M. L. A. M. Hisbullah said that Muslims did not need a separate political party but instead should remain part of the mainstream political parties, to achieve their political aspirations and legitimate rights.

North spruced up for elections as Tamil parties long for facelift


At last, the North is all spruced up to hold long eluded elections. Trying to rise from the ashes of three decades long war, people of the North will cast their first vote at the forthcoming elections of Jaffna Municipal Council (JMC) and Vavuniya Urban Councils (VUC) on August 8.
