Road development, a priority in the North
Investigations and surveys on reconstruction of the A-9 road and on
around 300 kilometres of roads in the Jaffna peninsula have
commenced and the work on the project is expected to resume by the
end of the year, said Secretary to the Ministry of Highways, S.
Amarasekera.

Inflation continues to dip
Inflation continued to decline in June and the 12 month moving
average inflation declined to 12.5 percent from 14.7 percent in May.
The point-to-point inflation dropped below 1 and recorded at 0.9
percent.
