Tech Pacific Lanka targets North and East

With the dawn of peace in the country, new market avenues are opening up in the North and the East. This is a very positive sign for businesses in Sri Lanka. Tech Pacific Lanka had identified Jaffna, Mannar, Vavuniya, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Kalmunai and other major towns in the North and the East to double up the dealer network to market HP branded computers, said M. H. Wahid, Managing Director, Tech Pacific Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, addressing the press at Waters Edge, recently. Tech Pacific Lanka (Pvt) Limited has earned the distinction of being the first 100 percent Sri Lankan owned company to be appointed tier one distributor for HPSystems Group (HP PSG) Notebooks, Desktop PCs, hand-held devices and accessories for the region including Sri Lanka and the Maldives, he said.

They have the unique facility of holding the HP inventory in their own Sri Lankan warehouses located centrally in Colombo, Tech Pacific Lanka dealers and partners will have access to the latest range of HP products 365 days.

HP and Tech Pacific Lanka partnership shares a common goal in delivering the very best of up to the minute technology to end users.

The company has over 10 years experience in distribution and logistics.

Now over a 100 strong dealership penetrates all corners of Sri Lanka and soon more dealers will overtake the new markets in the North and the East making HP's presence, a force to be reckoned within Sri Lanka.

They are in the process of utilising the wide network of Singer to make HP products accessible to the retail market at affordable easy payment terms.

With the government ICT drive to empower the nation with the benefits of advanced technology and telecommunications at their doorstep, the corporates are increasingly encouraged to compete with one another to focus their attention on the domestic market providing value added services at affordable prices.

Tech Pacific Lanka endorses the state initiative as a boon to companies and domestic markets the people making the nation `most technology savvy' among the emerging countries in the region.

Notebooks are taking the market by storm grabbing a 65 percent share, it was said.

The Desktop PCs have dropped to 35 percent in Colombo.

This is due to the WiFi connectivity, wireless possibilities and availability of advanced telecommunication facilities at an affordable price in Colombo.

The case rests at 80 percent desktop PCs against 20 percent notebooks in the outstations, it was noted.

HP is the market leader with a 46 percent share of the total market.
