I was brought up surrounded by a beautiful garden which my father created. So I suppose it was inevitable that sooner or later I would develop some interest in flowers which grew in abundance around me.

My ancestors came from Holland. It's a notable country where our species existed. Hectares of land are obtained to settle our breed in all parts of the world. They are found in abundance.

Since childhood my life was spent in my native country Holland. My parents migrated to a distant land called Sri Lanka. It's a tropical country where the climate varies in different parts. We looked for a suitable place to settle down, and roamed all over the country. We visited Bandarawela, Diyatalawa, Haputale, Idalgashinna and finally Nuwara Eliya where my parents found the ideal place for their children. While I blossomed into adolescence, my body became a dazzling figure and the face pretty as a rose.

Friends and neighbours have been very good to me. Many sought my help to be at their best occasions at weddings, dances, national events and religious ceremonies; even at times of sorrow and grief. Some women wanted me to be with them during their happier times with garlands round their necks and for bouquets of flowers.

Many rich people spent to good fortune on me giving preference to freshness and variety. My lovers admired the wonderful challenge of colour and texture of my body. But without any emotion and depth of feeling from my creator it will always lack 'life'.

As I reached adulthood I hooked on to handsome men and began the wonderful challenge of dating and meeting them every now and then which I found so exciting.

As time passed a person proposed marriage to me. Since I was advancing in years, I accepted his offer and went to live with my new partner. He took me home and spent many years enjoying dancing and having tamashas. He looked after me well with good food and plenty of liquid diet. I had the best of times with him, but he was not happy with one and wanted more and more to satisfy his hunger.

I was unhappy and got disgusted with his life style. Then I decided to leave home.

One day a gale crossed our garden and I was carried away. While I was walking down the road a huge monster came rushing towards me. That was the end of my happy journey.
