Young models at Bridal Fair

The colourful bridal wear demonstrations that were presented by
pretty and attractive young designers won the hearts of the audience at
the annual Bridal Fair-2009, held at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and
Convention Centre (SLECC) last Sunday.
The young models who were trained by Gwendoline Kuhatheva of the
Technique International Vocational Training Centre, exhibited their
talents by displaying Kandyan, Hindu and various other bridal wear
presentations at this glamours event.
Sri Lanka's popular Bridal bouquet specialist Sterling Flowers
provided bouquets to the brides.Anne Iresha and Lakdu Ambepitiya,
Chandima Handugama and Dimithri Madavi, Suleka de Alwis and Shamila
Sarathchandra, Bala Viththiya and Komathy Vasuhi Rajapuwaneeswaran
displayed joint presentations, while Swarna Prathip, Mary Peiris,
Nirmala Dissanayaka and Melani Jayaweera made individual presentations.
Speaking to media sponsor the Sunday Observer, Technique
International, Business Development and Education Director Gwendoline
Kuhatheva said the objective of holding such an annual event is to
encourage young designers to display their hidden and creative talents
to go forward in their career. She said the Technique International were
the pioneers of conducting Bridal Shows since 1994 and had the record of
launching the country's first glossy Bridal Magazine a few years ago.
"We always encourage students to match their skills with their talents
when showing their creative abilities," she said.She said she was proud
of past students who regularly conduct bridal dressing demonstrations on
TV and also in seminars with the objective of educating interested
persons to select the field as their future career.
