ICASL seminar on Quality Assurance
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) is
concerting an evening presentation followed by a discussion on Quality
Assurance under the topic of Audit quality monitoring towards compliance
with International Standards of Quality Control 1 (ISQC1). This
presentation would be the right opportunity for representatives of
accounting firms, practising accountants of the audit faculty,
regulators and representatives of industry and financial groups to
broaden their spectrum of knowledge on the latest developments on
quality assurance which would be applicable in their respective fields
of work.
Quality assurance can be identified as an important aspect of modern
day professional services, and this presentation has been organized with
the prime motive of sharing the theoretical and globally practised
methods on quality control with our local professionals. This
presentation would articulate broadly the concept of ISQC 1 its local
variations, recognizing significant audit quality risks and deficiencies
identifying and evaluating them with the knowledge of facing them
appropriately with an overview of global quality monitoring programs.
This presentation would be conducted by an international expert in
the field of quality assurance, Partner Global Risk & Compliance at KPMG
International Tony Banton. Prior to being appointed to his present
designation Banton had gathered extensive international experience by
being the Regional Quality Performance Liaison Partner for KPMG's
Europe, Middle East, Africa and South Asia regions, and is rich with
practical exposure in the field. He is currently based in France and
supervises a team in Toronto and spends part of his time performing
Global Compliance Reviews in KPMG member firms. After the Presentation
by Banton there would be a panel discussion held to which eminent
personalities attached to the ICASL would participate and would provide
room to discuss the Roses and Thorns of modern day issues pertaining to
quality assurance.
The presentation is scheduled to be held on the 9th of September,
2009 at the ICASL premises and many finance professionals dealing with
quality assurance services are expected to attend this event.
