Chandimal - seventh Anandian to win top award


CRICKET AWARDS: The captain Dinesh Chandimal of Ananda College and Imesh Udayanga of Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda - two cricketers with great prospects for the future, were the proud winners of the main awards in the 31st Observer-Mobitel Schoolboy Cricketer of the year All-Island and Outstation Awards respectively at the awards.

Kandy beat CR & FC takes Clifford Cup

Kandy Sports Club stand off a stiff second half challenge by CR and FC to register a 10 points (1 goal, 1 penalty) to 6 (2 penalties) win to take the Caltex Clifford Cup rugby championship in the finals played at the Nittawela Rugby stadium in Kandy yesterday. At half time Kandy led 10-0.
