‘Peshali presents...’
A choral concert by the students of Peshali Yapa will be staged today
at the Lionel Wendt Theatre commencing 7.30 pm. The choral concert
titled ‘Peshali presents.....’ comprises the Senior and Junior choirs
their ages ranging from six to 35 years. According to Peshali the choir
will sing songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and even 2000 in four
part, three part harmony and duets, and the concert will be of two hour
duration. The concert titled Coro Cant Amici will also feature gospel,
broadway and folk music.
The junior students Piccolinis will perform enchanting toe - tapping
medleys. Kamalini Casie Chetty and Ruwanthi Yatagama will accompany the
choir on piano while Shamal de Silva will be at the keyboards and
Christopher Prins will play the acoustic drums.
The choir started off one year ago and as Peshali remarks she hopes
to progress more in the years to come. |
