Strolling the street of Stratford Avenue, as you pass the lively
store called Ghandara, the quaint restaurant-like Cafe Che is definitely
the place to be on a lazy Sunday.
Imagine Che himself eating at Cafe Che as he will be amused to see
his pictures lining the passages brilliantly displayed.
Greeted by your friendly manager Rizwan, the setting has a subtle
ancient feeling that makes you feel like you've stepped at a private
retreat where the Michael Learns to Rock songs are belted and the
atmosphere has an aroma of freshly baked pizzas and Bayleaf-made pasta.
Chef Rohan who manages the culinary delights of Cafe Che said that
the menu will be improved to give it a delicious taste for patrons who
need variety.
Encompassing of an authentic Italian cuisine, Cafe Che with Harpo's
Pizza have introduced the Pizza alla Cafe Che which has a mix of
anchovies, feta cheese, olives, capers and delicious tomato sauce. The
delicious pizza in all its glory of freshness and crispy delight, is
sure to set hearts afire with melting cheese and nutritious anchovies.
"We have our own ovens at Cafe Che which is in firm line with our
quality standards to give our customers the freshest pizzas at the best
prices" said Chef Rohan. The Chef said that even the dough is made then
and there to ensure maximum satisfaction and taste that plays an
important part in freshness.
However, it would be nice if Cafe Che offers has more of its own
character, like offering probably some Cuban food fused with Italian
delights. Maybe they could have a special offering to really highlight
that Che era so people see him in his glory days during the Cuban
Revolution.
The fresh pizzas are to die for but still needs great sprucing of its
style and in its offering. There is a private dining room for those
special occasions and a great upstairs section to give patrons the space
they deserve.
Moreover, we hope to see Cafe Che giving Nugegoda and Colombo-05 and
Colombo-06 Harpo's clients the Harpo's Pizza they deserve!
Harpo's Winners:
1. M.L.M.Anwer, Colombo-10
