Man fires cannon, hits neighbour’s house
A Pennsylvania history buff who recreates firearms from old wars
accidentally fired a 2-pound cannonball through the wall of his
neighbour’s home. William Maser, 54, fired a cannonball Wednesday
evening outside his home in Georges Township that ricocheted and hit a
house 400 yards away. The cannonball, about two inches in diameter,
smashed through a window and a wall before landing in a closet.
Authorities said nobody was hurt.
State police charged Maser with reckless endangerment, criminal
mischief and disorderly conduct. Recreating 19th century cannons is a
longtime hobby of Maser. He said he is sorry and he will stop shooting
them on his property, which is about 35 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

Baby number 19 on the way for reality TV mum
A US mother has discovered she is pregnant with her 19th child weeks
before she is due to become a grandmother. Michelle Duggar from
Tontitown, Arkansas, is expecting the new arrival in March next year.
The 42-year-old and her husband Jim Bob, who run a commercial property
business, are the stars of their own reality TV show 18 Kids And
Counting.
Mrs Duggar suspected she could be pregnant after her youngest child,
eight-month-old Jordyn-Grace, became fussy while feeding on breast milk.
The veteran mum knew from past experience this was a sign she could be
expecting again so she took a pregnancy test and was ‘pleasantly
surprised’ to find it was positive.
As well as preparing for her own baby, Mrs Duggar is gearing up to
become a grandmother for the first time next month. Her eldest son Josh,
21, and his wife Anna are expecting a baby girl on October 18.
Meanwhile, the Duggars are considering name suggestions for the
youngster who will join their family of 10 boys and eight girls, whose
names all start with the letter J. Along with Josh and Jordyn-Grace, the
brood already includes: twins Jana and John-David, 19, Jill, 18, Jessa,
16, Jinger, 15, Joseph, 14, Josiah, 13, Joy-Anna, 11, twins Jeremiah and
Jedidiah, 10, Jason, 9, James, 8, Justin, 6, Jackson, 5, Johannah, 3,
and Jennifer, 2.

Girl laughs off festival loo handbag ordeal
A girl who got stuck in a Leeds Festival loo while trying to retrieve
her handbag was left bruised by the 20-minute ordeal, her cousin says.
But the 19-year-old, called Charlotte, is starting to laugh off the
drama. She had to be rescued by a fire crew after reaching in to try to
grab the bag she had dropped down the long-drop toilet - and becoming
jammed in the seat.
The hand bag contained all her money, her phone and her tickets home.
“She couldn’t reach with one arm so she put her other arm in and managed
to get her shoulders stuck” said her cousin Katie. Luckily, Charlotte’s
friends were standing outside and quickly raised the alarm.
The on-site fire crew are said to have treated it as a major
emergency and sent seven firemen, who tried to dismantle a portion of
the toilet to pull the teenager free. After 20 minutes they had to pull
Charlotte out, leaving her with more bruises on her hips, her cousin
said.
