Fertiliser for fishermen
Ra-Blue made a faux pas again when he addressed a meeting in
Kalpitiya. Ignorant of the fact that he was addressing a gathering whose
livelihood was the fishing industry, Ra-Blue promised to offer them a
bigger fertiliser subsidy by a future Government under his leadership.
Worried boy
Ra-Blue is a worried man these days - not because of the forthcoming
Southern polls, but because his blue-eyed boy Ah-Killar has fallen out
with him. He is sending message after message, even going to the extent
of promising Rock-City's district leadership at the expense of Kind-Siri,
but lo and behold there is no response from the youthful leader.
Banned!
Fearing that the upcoming election results would pose another serious
threat to his shaky leadership, Ra-Blue has put a taboo on his party Em
Pees - they have been banned from making unwarranted comments on party
matters. But theTree-man and Johnny Boy have openly opposed the
'censorship' imposed by the leader.
Losing patience
There was a delay in playing the National Anthem due to a technical
fault at the Elephant Party's anniversary celebrations in Kandy. Ra-Blue
did not have patience and left the ceremony. When a politician related
the incident to MR, he said he would have sung the National Anthem had
he been there.
Soome perturbed
Soome, the Onesa is juggling figures, fearing that their
deteriorating votebase in the South would be exposed soon. "The South
has been our traditional strength. If we get less than two percent, we
won't have a place to hide,"the Bell Captain warned his politbureau.
Green battle
She-Raal, donned in a black cloak, was in Galle to address a regional
leaders' meeting on Ra-Blue's behalf. When he warned the candidates to
refrain from the preferential vote battles, the Pala that is Wije and
his supporters attacked and chased Shee-Raal back to Colombo. |
