Renown down Airmen 2-1

Renown SC registered a fine 2 goals to I victory over Sri Lanka Air Force in the Dialog Champions League soccer tournament game conducted by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka played at the City Football League grounds yesterday.

Going flat out Renown SC stung together number of moves in the first 20 minutes of the first half which saw Airmen defend their goal area stoutly. Occasionally Sri Lanka Air Force team gave the Renown SC a tough time but not for long.

Both sides failed to hit the net and at half time and it was a blank score sheet.

Renown SC with better ball control, speed and constructive play mesmerised the rival defence and broke the deadlock in the 28th minute when M. Zain scored off a short pass from M. Shafraz. It was a fine move from the midfield. Airmen fought back gamely and equalised in the 81st minute through N. Sanju after a mix up in the goal area.

Renown SC who displayed better style of play came out victorious with Fasul Rahuman who worked the ball on the left flank and drove the ball home in the dying minutes of the game.
