Indices move up gradually

The turbo charged activity at the bourse slipped into the reverse temporarily due to a market correction.

Accordingly a drop in turnover was seen. However the indices began to move upwards gradually. A high dose of confidence came into the market with greater opportunities for commercial activities after the end of the three decade long war. Analysts expect a chase for good growth stocks to come into effect with the refunds of Hemas Power.

Institutional funds went into Dialog and Ceylon Theatres while foreign funds opted for JKH and Dialog. In the trading sector Browns and C.W. Mackie evoked extraordinary support while in the power and energy sector strong demand prevailed for Vallibel power.
