United Nations meeting on Climate Change, presided over by its
Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. As an informal side event to this
meeting, he hosted a dinner for the high level delegates, preceded
by a round table conference.

Despite 26m global IDPs:
Sri Lanka’s IDP issue blown out of proportion
The latest buzzword today is obviously IDP. Many
are not aware of or fail to acknowledge that globally, there are
11.4 million refugees and 26 million Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs),
according to the latest estimates from United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike:
Architect of a new era
It is no exaggeration that late S.W.R.D.
Bandaranaike was the brightest star in the post-independence
political firmament. He set up the new political organisation, the
Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) in 1951. Despite being premier only
for a very short span of three years, he left an indelible mark,
turning the country’s political culture upside down!
