UNT - Top notch supplier of air coolants

The cooling machines at a factory

Preserving the environment gets on top of the agenda of any new industrial venture or development program. The success of an industry lies in the use of energy-saving, eco-friendly technological applications.

UNT Engineering, a company in the forefront of technological development for over thirty years has helped industries to notch sustainable development through its range of environment-friendly gadgets.

The energy saving water evaporative air cooling system of UNT is a state-of-the-art industrial application with low initial investment and maintenance cost.

The supply of fresh air, low running cost, no air seal enclosure, energy efficient, easy handling and environment friendly are factors that differentiate the energy saving air cooling system from the central air-conditioning.

Director, UNT Engineering (Pvt) Ltd., Upali Somachandra said the product was introduced around five years ago and many large and medium-scale industries have benefitted immensely from the cooling system.

The speciality of the product is that it also enhances working efficiency and enhances the output of industries.

Workers in large factories prefer the ventilation needed for the cooling system.

Director, Nihal Weerasekera said the rise in relative humidity (2-3%) could be reduced by providing ventilation and biological fouling in water could be prevented by adding suitable micro biocide.

The positive pressure air cooling system is applied at garment factories, industries, suppermarkets, schools, lecture halls, restaurants, kitchens and open air meetings.

The negative pressure system is applied in nursery plan houses, green houses, poultry, cattle and piggery farms, breeding houses and flower stores.

The water evaporative cooling system is widely used among South Asian, North American, Middle East and African countries.

MAS Holdings, Everast Industrial Lanka, Dipped Products, Smart Shirts Lanka and Linea Aqua are some of the top customers of this cooling system.

Oracle unveils Exadata Version 2

The world's first OLTP Database Machine was unveiled last week by Oracle Chief Executive Officer, Larry Ellison; and Sun Executive Vice President John Fowler. The Exadata Database Machine Version 2, made by Sun and Oracle, is the world's fastest machine for both data warehousing and online transaction processing (OLTP).

Built using industry standard hardware components plus FlashFire technology from Sun, Oracle Database 11g Release 2 and Oracle Exadata Storage Server Software Release 11.2, the Sun Oracle Database Machine Version 2 is twice as fast as Version 1 for data warehousing. The Sun Oracle Database Machine goes beyond data warehousing applications with the addition of Exadata Smart Flash Cache based on Sun FlashFire technology to deliver extreme performance and scalability for online transaction processing (OLTP).

Exadata Version 1 was the world's fastest machine for data warehousing applications, said Oracle CEO Larry Ellison. Exadata Version 2 is twice as fast as Exadata V1 for data warehousing, and it's the only database machine that runs OLTP applications. Exadata V2 runs virtually all database applications much faster and less expensively than any other computer in the world.
