Central Province in semi-finals

CRICKET: Central Province entered the semi-finals of the
Inter-Provincial Under-17 Cricket Tournament organised by the Sri Lanka
Cricket when they beat Western Province South 'Outer' by 7 wickets in
the quarter-finals played at the Welagedera Stadium in Kurunegala during
the week.
In the pre-quarter-finals, Central Province beat North Central
Province by six wickets after rain had interfered with play and the
'parabola' system was introduced.
North Central Province: 105 for 9 wickets in 36 overs (Dhanushka
Dharmasiri 23, H. Gunatilleke 12, L. Madusanka 21, Akila Jayasundera 3
for 24, P.A. Premaratne 2 for 11).
Central Province: 72 for 4 in 17.2 overs (Manoj Sarathchandra 32, L.
Madusanka 2 for 27).
In the semi-finals, Central Province beat Western Province South
'Outer' by seven wickets.
Western Province South 'Outer': 105 all out in 26.3 overs (Ushara
Duminda 31, Akila Jayasundera 3 for 23, Heshan Thisara 4 for 25).
Central Province: 106 for 3 in 23.1 overs (Heshan Thisara 58, Manoj
Sarathchandra 10 not out).
