Buddhist Ladies U-14 'Tarbat' champs

ATHLETICS: Buddhist Ladies College emerged All-Island Under-14 Girls Champions to annexed the Tarbat Cup at the All-Island Athletic Championships held at the Albert Peiris grounds.

Buddhist Ladies College, Colombo also were first runners-up of the title at the festival.

Seeneth Immitaash of Buddhist Ladies College was picked as the Best Athlete. She won the Shot Putt event, came second in the Discus Throw and was placed fourth in the Javelin event.

Nipuni Maleesha of Buddhist Ladies College won the 100 and 200 metres events, then Shalini Lochana came fourth in the 200 metres and Thamudi Kavindya was fourth in the Discus event.
