Minister Chandrasekaran's funeral tomorrow

The funeral of the leader of the Upcountry People's Front and the Minister of Community Development and Social Inequity Eradication, Periyasamy Chandrasekaran will take place with full State honours in Talawakelle tomorrow.

The remains of the late Minister Chandrasekaran were placed at the Parliament premises till 12.30 p.m. yesterday. A large gathering of politicians from all political parties paid their last respects to the late Minister, who had been a Parliamentarian since 1994.Meanwhile, Mrs. Shanthini Chandrasekaran, widow of the late Minister has been unanimously elected as the new leader of the Up-country People's Front, by the party's hierarchy.
