JVP rule out post of PM

Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe is having day dreams to become Executive Prime Minister but the UNP’s main partner in the UNF Alliance the JVP categorically stated that, that there will be no Prime Minister in the caretaker government, in case Sarath Fonseka wins. In an interview with a Sinhala website, the General Secretary of the JVP, Tilwin Silva said that there will be no Prime Minister in the caretaker government they intend to form, in case Fonseka emerges victorious.

However, the JVP General Secretary emphasised that his party will not be contesting the forthcoming General Election under the UNF banner. “Definitely, we will be contesting alone. JVP will not join any alliance and will contest the Parliamentary General Elections on its own,” Silva was quoted as saying.
