Sachithra match winner for Ananda

CRICKET: Leg-spinner Sachithra Perera took a matchbag of ten wickets as Ananda College trounced Zahira College by an innings and 61 runs in their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which concluded at Ananda Mawatha yesterday.

Zahira: 103 (M. Ishan 36, R. Sharmen 3 for 40, S. Perera 3 for 26) and 94 (M. Hilam 20, M. Isham 19, R. Sharmen 3 for 19, S. Perera 7 for 30).

Ananda: 258 for 4 decl. (U. Nadeeranga 48, M. Janadhi 46, S. Devage 102 n.o., M. Jayaratne 22, M. Mohamed 3 for 55).

Ijaz (6/49) - restricts Thurstan

A fine spell of bowling from Mohamed Ijaz helped D. S. Senanayake College to dismiss their opponents Thurstan College for a modest 178 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their inter-school under-19 cricket tournament match which commenced at Thurstan grounds yesterday.

St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota were well placed at 114 for 2 after Royal College had piled up a formidable 294 for 9 in their first innings on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which commenced at Reid Avenue yesterday.
