Sports awards at Public Services Sports Club, Kandy

Public Services Sports Club, Kandy celebrated its 63rd anniversary on a grand scale with many sports being up for competition. The celebrations were held under the patronage of Senior Vice-President of the club Jagath Kulatunge - former Registrar of University of Peradeniya at the club house on December 26.

Sports Awards were also made and it was followed by a musical evening and dinner.

Results of sports events

Billiards - Veterans: champion: D. B. Ekanayake, runner-up: T. M. K. Wijesinghe.

Snooker: Champion: S. Gamage, runner-up: Jagath Kulatunge.

Billiards (Novices): Champion: N. Wijesinghe, runner-up: A. Abeyratne.

Snooker (Novices): Champion: A. Abeyratne, runner-up: T. Welagedera.

Walking Race (under 40 years): 1. S. Deshapriya, 2. T. Welagedera,

3. S. Kulatunge.

Walking Race (over 40 years): 1. B. Perera, 2. W. Ranasinghe, 3. J. Kulatunge.

Walking Race (over 60 years): 1. Deva Amunugama, 2. S. Alexander.

Bridge - Champions: T. Abeykoon and N. Amarakoon, runners-up: K. Bandara and B. Perera.

Cricket: Champions - Team led by Shalitha Kulatunge: runners-up: Team led by Jagath Kulatunge.
