AAP annual confab on March 20
The Academy for Administrative Professionals(AAP) will be celebrating
its fifth anniversary with a series of activities. This will coincide
with the 'international Administrative Professionals Week' Celebrations.
The celebrations will start with the annual conference "Executive
PA-Beyond Excellence" which will be held at Colombo Hilton on March 20
from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike
Kumaratunga, will be the chief guest and keynote speaker. Managing
Director, Eagle Insurance, Deepal Sooriyaarachchi, Management
Consultant, Ranel Wijesinghe and Banquet Manager, Galadari Hotel,
Bernard Croose will comprise the resource panel.
Executive Director of the AAP Sunethra Jayaratne said that the confab
will be unique and exciting planned for personal assistants, secretaries
and front line executives who wish to benefit the organisation and
themselves. She also said that the workplace is constantly changing.
More is expected from the modern personal assistants executives - new
skills, initiative approaches and achieving the highest professional
standards. It is less about processing and more about managing
relationships and communication. Flexibility and a desire to succeed,
what gives the PA the "edge and this conference is designed to meet the
demand of the day.
Workshop for Sinhala medium Secretaries, Annual Award Nite and Dinner
Dance, charity projects have been lined up by the Academy to coincide
with the anniversary.
The Academy conducts courses in secretarial practices, English and
Tamil Languages.
AAP which is currently conducting the London Chamber of Commerce
Private and Executive Secretaries Diplomas, intends to commence Arabic
classes, PR and shorthand classes this year.
AAP membership is free and it also operates a job bank for its
members.
