SLMA Foundation Sessions in Jaffna

The Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA), is planning to hold this years Foundation Sessions in Jaffna in November.

Writing about this decision in the SLMA news bulletin for doctors released in January this year the SLMA President Dr. Narada Warnasuriya said."We are planning from now on to have this year's Foundation Sessions in November in Jaffna and we hope to make this an impetus to revive Jaffna as a centre of medical excellence in medical education as it had been in the past.

"The main emphasis of this year's activity will be continuing professional development of the grade medical officers in the Ministry of Health and general practitioners. The monthly clinical meetings will be continued as usual.

We are reinforcing the existing special committees by calling for new members. A new working group on 'Health Equity' is being formed.
