Colombo Tamils to support UPFA

The Colombo District Tamils Association, led by Deshamanya A. S. Poobalasingam, will support the ruling United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) in the forthcoming parliamentary polls.

Chairman of the Colombo district Tamils Association Poobalasingam expressing their support to the UPFA said, even during the Presidential Election, the association supported the UPFA Presidential candidate Mahinda Rajapaksa.

They would continue to support the UPFA at the parliamentary polls.

According to Poobalasingam, who was addressing a press briefing President Rajapaksa was a leader of integrity and the Tamils must strengthen his Government to fulfil their political aspirations.The Secretary of the Colombo District Tamils Association N. Vijayan said by strengthening the Government of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Tamils could find solutions to their unresolved issues.
