CRICKET: Dashing opener Mahela Udawatte hammered a sparkling 118 from 65 deliveries to spearhead Unichella to a massive 145 run victory over John Keells in their Singer MCA Twenty20 cricket tournament semi final match worked off at the Colts CC ground in Havelock Park yesterday.

The left hander hoisted half a dozen of sixes and struck eleven boundaries while putting on 110 runs for the first wicket together with Prasanna Jayawardena (54) as Unichella piled up 220 for 3 from their 20 overs.

Meanwhile Sampath Bank edged out Janashakthi by a solitary run in their Singer MCA Twenty20 cricket tournament semifinal match worked off at the same venue. The final between Unichella and Sampath Bank will be played today at the Colts CC ground.
