Top Grade Five performers fly to Fukuoka

The six students who obtained the highest marks at last year's grade
five scholarship examination have been selected by the Education
Ministry to attend the 22nd Asia Pacific Children's Council (APCC) to be
held in Fukuoka, Japan.
They are J. V. Pramod Dilshan of Ruhunu Vijayaba Madya Maha Vidyalaya
Beliatta, N. N. Nisansa De Silva Wijesingha of Kulupana Junior School
Pokunuwita, S. M. Vihansa Sirimanne of Viharamaha Devi Balika Maha
Vidyalaya, Badulla, H. M. Mansika Herath of Maliyadeva Boys School
Kurunegala, Logeswaran Srikarshan of Jaffna College, Vaddukoddai and M.
H. Fathima Shamila Aisha of Girls Maha Vidyalaya, Valaichanai.
The 50-member APCC first met in 1989. Sri Lanka participated in all
its meetings and those students who participated in the APCC had set up
an organisation named 'Bridge Club Sri Lanka'.
J. Rivimal Senerath of Ananda College, Colombo, an active member of
Bridge Club Sri Lanka, who attended the 2003 APCC meeting was invited by
the APCC Executive Committee to participate in the 22nd session.
