Moragasmulla SC knocks out Victory SC

FOOTBALL: The City Football League Division II Knock-out tournament for Yusoof Cup commenced yesterday with a bang when Moragasmulla SC having a comfortable 6-1 win over Victory SC. The winners led 3-1 at the halfway mark. This game was played at the City Football Complex, Slave Island. With this win the Moragasmulla SC qualifies for the quarter-finals.

In a another game played at Stanley Jansz ground Colpetty United SC came up with a top performance to beat New Sun Rise SC eight goals to one to book their place in the quarters.

The Colombo Veterans SC and United SC figured in a one all draw at Cooray Park in the same tournament game. In the tie breaker Colombo Veterans edged out their opponents 4 goals to 3.

The fourth game between Sunny Mount SC and Everyday SC played at Ried Avenue to end in a one all draw and in the tie breaker Eveready SC won with the score reading 4-2 in favour of Eveready SC.

The remaining four pre-quarter finals are scheduled to be played today.
