Lanka's first A+ GRI-checked sustainability report released
Dialog Axiata released Sri Lanka's first-ever A+ GRI-checked
Sustainability Report, affirming Dialog's commitment to excellence in
sustainable operations and related best practice reporting.
The 2010 Sustainability Report of Dialog Axiata was audited by Det
Norske Veritas AS, and is validated through an application level check
and third party Assurance Statement.
GRI is the world's leading sustainability reporting framework, which
focuses on continuous improvement and application based on a Triple
Bottom Line focus.
Sustainability reports based on GRI are used to demonstrate
commitment to sustainable development and measure performance over time
with respect to sustainability principles and indicators, laws,
standards and voluntary initiatives.
With the achievement of a GRI Application level A+ Sustainability
Report for 2010, Dialog takes its place among a constellation of
regional and world leaders in sustainable business practices.
Dialog's 2010 Sustainability Report also reflects Dialog's learning
from the first Gap Analysis carried out in Sri Lanka vis-a-vis the seven
principal performance dimensions detailed in the ISO 26000 guideline for
the application of Corporate Social Responsibility. The gap analysis was
carried out by Det Norske Veritas AS.
The ISO standard and guidelines measures the capacity of
organisations to seize sustainability-related opportunities and respond
to business risks, through the leverage of underlying processes and
systems.
Having topped Sri Lanka's Corporate Accountability Rating for two
consecutive years, Dialog Axiata reports its Triple Bottom Line
performance across 49 core GRI G3 indicators as well as selected
telecommunication sector supplement indicators.
Dialog is a member of the United Nations Global Compact Sri Lanka
Steering Committee and champions the sustainability achievements of Sri
Lanka's ICT sector on the said forum. |
