Nivasie selects best gardens
Nivasie Developers recently concluded its 'Best Garden' competition
to beautify homestead gardens, promote green area development and
sustainability at the Victoria Range Bungalows in Digana, Kandy.
The competition had more than 30 resident bungalows participating
with selections made by Landscape Designer/Consultant Sarath Palipana.
From the beautifully landscaped gardens, three were selected winners.
"Nivasie is a property developer that has made its contribution
towards taking forward the Go Green concept," said Managing Director
Herman S. Gonsal. In all our projects 40-60 percent is preserved for
natural surroundings and the environment.
The Victoria Range Bungalows in Digana, Kandy, has more than 75
varieties of trees which were untouched when building houses.
"We have our own nursery where we have more than 25 varieties of
trees and foliage. Sometimes, at the time of construction we have
changed the position of the house in many blocks of land, to preserve a
tree."
From planning to completion of a house, consideration is given to the
environment, including selection of construction material. Our engineers
at ICC select environmental friendly materials for a healthier living,
as well as to preserve nature.
"Our projects are asbestos free and timber free (except for doors),
we use our own cellular blocks so that hazards are not caused to nature
by burning of bricks. Solar power is used for hot water and provision is
made for rainwater harvesting. Houses are designed in a manner so that
daylight as well as air could be utilised to the maximum so the
consumption of electricity could be reduced," said Gonsal. |
