West disappointed over eradication of terrorism - Minister Muralitharan

Certain LTTE sympathisers in Europe and the West who are deeply disappointed that terrorism has been eradicated are exerting pressure on Sri Lanka, Deputy Minister Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan said.

He said that the people have no right to level allegations against President Mahinda Rajapaksa or the Security Forces as it was only he who was the former LTTE deputy leader, the patriotic Tamil leaders and the Tamils in the North and the East know the truth, he said. The aim of the LTTE sympathisers in foreign countries is to drive the new peaceful Sri Lanka back to terror and dislodge the country, he said.

The expatriate Tamil community has become a marketable community to the affluent LTTE sympathisers who are all out to inflict suffering on the Tamils again, he said. What these LTTE sympathisers in Europe and in the West spend at night clubs a day is sufficient to build at least a single house for the Tamils in the North and the East.

So far it is only the Sri Lankan government that has constructed houses for Tamils in the North and the East, the deputy minister said.
