CISI National Advisory Committee
The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) recently
announced its National Advisory Committee for Sri Lanka.
The committee plays a vital role in the success of the CISI, both
through maintaining and developing the membership base and by providing
opportunities for CISI to establish a market for its qualifications to
contribute to the country's wider capacity building initiatives in
financial services.
It also supports the provision of continuing professional development
opportunities and social and networking events for CISI Sri Lankan
members.
Chartered FCSI and CISI CEO Simon Culhane said, "With the Sri Lankan
financial market growing at a rapid pace, there is the need to develop a
pool of skilled individuals who can meet the demand from financial firms
and stockbrokers as the market expands. Those who successfully complete
a CISI qualification will have the necessary foundation knowledge to
work in the international and domestic securities and investment
houses."
The Committee comprises: General Manager/Director and Chief
Executive, DFCC Bank PLC and Chairman Colombo Stock Exchange, Nihal
Fonseka Chief Financial Officer, Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, Nandika
Buddhipala Managing Director, LR Global Lanka Asset Management, Channa
De Silva Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer, Taprobane Group of
Companies, Ajith Devasurendra Director - Financial Services Academy,
Securities & Exchange Commission, Hareendra Dissa Bandara Managing
Director/Chief Executive Officer, Bartleet Transcapital Limited,
Indrajith Fernando Chief Executive Officer, National Asset Management
Limited, S. Jayavarman Vice President/ General Manager Virtusa
Corporation and board member Sri Lanka Association for Software and
