Errant food stall owners fined

Twenty food stall owners found guilty of selling unhealthy food were fined Rs 160,000 by the Gangodawila magistrate recently.

Public Health Inspectors raided several stalls in Maharagama and Nawinna in the night following public complaints.

Some of the complaints were preparing food in unclean kitchens and selling out-dated food.

Thirty sites were raided and 23 cases were lodged at the Gangodawila Magistrate's Court.
