Blind cricketers on short tour to Trivandrum
BLIND CRICKET TOUR: Sri Lanka's blind cricketers are scheduled to
make a short tour of Trivandrum from February 8 to 12 next year. They
are scheduled to play three one-day matches with the Indian National
Team. A 14-member team is expected to make the tour and the officials of
the Sri Lanka Cricket Association of the Visually Handicapped has
started a fund-raising project to meet the cost of the air tickets and
other incidental expenses of the team.
The Indian part of the tour is sponsored by the Score Foundation of
which George Abraham (the Father of Blind Cricket in India) is the
Chairman.
In order to select the Sri Lanka Blind Cricket Team, a pool has been
picked and trials were held at Tyronne Fernando Stadium, Moratuwa.
