Dehiwala Zoo, Pinnawala orphanage net Rs. 432 m revenue

Over 1.67 million local and foreign tourists visited the Zoological Garden, at Dehiwala and the Pinnawala Elephant orphanage up to August 31 this year facilitating a revenue of Rs. 432 million. The Zoological Garden and Pinnawala Elephant orphanage have become key attractions for a large number of local and foreign tourists, according to the progress report of the Economic Development Ministry.

The Dehiwala Zoo has built an area for elephants, reptiles and an entrance lobby while an elephant shed to house eight elephants and an elephant feeding shed has been built at the Pinnawala Orphanage.
