Azath Salley in troubled waters in CMC

The Colombo Municipal Council UPFA team led by Opposition Leader Milinda Moragoda has unanimously decided to remove Azath Salley from membership due to his activities, Colombo Municipality UPFA member and media spokesman Riza Zarook told the Sunday Observer yesterday.

He said that the UPFA team which gathered under the patronage of Opposition Leader took two important decisions including the removal of Azath Salley.

The team has also decided to request President Mahinda Rajapaksa in writing to take disciplinary action against Azath Salley regarding his activities., Zarook said.

Two copies will be forwarded to UPFA General Secretary Susil Premajayantha and SLFP General Secretary Maithripala Sirisena, he said.

He said that last Thursday the 16 member Working Committee for 2012 was to set up. The Opposition received the power of the main committee of finance with the support of the ruling party the UNP, Zarook added.
