NSB and Visa International launch debit card
National Savings Bank (NSB) launched the Visa international debit
card. The partnership agreement was signed between the NSB and Visa
International last week.
The card was launched parallel to the celebration s of the 40th
anniversary of the Bank.
The Chairman of NSB Pradeep Kariyawasam said that as a savings bank,
the NSB has achieved its core objectives and inculcated the savings
habit.
The NSB operates via a network of 210 own branches, 4,500 post
offices and 220 ATMs. NSB is the only local bank with Fitch AAA (lka)
national long term ratings.
"NSB now plays a new role as facilitator for foreign investment,
beyond our traditional role and also we are widening our presence
internationally. Visa connects financial institutions worldwide and
promote electronic payments around the world," he said.
