Centenary celebrations of scouting
The Asia Pacific Regional Jamboree and the centenary celebrations of
Sri Lanka Scouting will be held from April 1-6 in Dambulla.
Over 1,500 scouts from 27 Asia Pacific Region countries and 6,000
from all parts of the country will participate in the celebrations.
Chief Scout Commissioner Chandrasena Batuwangala said that this was the
first ever international jamboree with such a large foreign contingent
to be held in Sri Lanka.
He said that the chief guest, President Mahinda Rajapaksa will open the
Jamboree and Vice President of the Philippines and Chairman of the Asia
Pacific Regional Scouts Committee Jejomar C. Binay will be the special
guest. |
